Dockmate®

Dockmate®, an extra pair of hands on board.

We proudly present the new generation of remote control.

As yachtsmen with more than 40 years of experience, we truly believe in

simplicity of things, and more specificly: simplicity of operating and control.

That is why we kept our transmitter’s layout simple and smooth.

Inside, the electronics have been redeveloped to the latest and future

standards of quality and safety.

Since the introduction, Dockmate® has been developed by listening to

its clients’ wishes.

TWIST key features

  • Maneuver your boat from any place on board.

  • Control 1 or 2 engines, thrusters, and horn with the proportional joystick.

  • Control bow thruster, stern thruster and 1 or 2 anchor winches or windlasses with separate buttons.

  • Twist the joystick to rotate your boat.

The Dockmate® Twist offers a wireless extension of the above controls with the exact same feeling and response time.

3-axis proportional joystick

The 3-axis joystick allows you to push the joystick in all directions (360°): forward, backwards, sideways, diagonally and everywhere in between. You can also push down on the joystick to activate the horn.

Software allows us to callibrate and configure the joystick so its behavior is best adapted to your boat's equipment and its user.

The joystick is also proportional, which enables the proportional control of engines and thrusters, if your equipment supports it.

Wireless charger

Thanks to the wireless charger, Dockmate® TWIST can easily be charged while you're not using it. That way Dockmate® TWIST is always ready for you when you need it.

Dockmate® TWIST

The Dockmate® TWIST enables the proverbial child to dock your boat.

This truly is Docking Made Easy!

Dockmate® Twist offers a wireless extension of your boat's controls with the exact same feeling and response time.

Dockmate® TWIST VECTOR

If you have a boat with Volvo Penta IPS or any Volvo Joystick, the Dockmate® TWIST VECTOR is the one for you.

Dockmate® TWIST VECTOR offers a wireless extension of your boat's joystick with the exact same feeling and response time. We aim to support more POD propulsion systems (like Zeus Pod) in the future.

TWIST VECTOR

key features

  • Maneuver your boat from any place on board.

  • Control engines or POD system , and horn with the proportional joystick.

  • Control bow thruster, and 1 or 2 anchor winches or windlasses with separate buttons.

  • Twist the joystick to rotate your boat.

  • Operates Dynamic Positioning system when installed.

  • Allows to engage High Mode.

The Dockmate® TWIST VECTOR joystick acts as a portable version of your boat's built-in joystick, with the exact same feeling and response time.

Finetuning is still possible through our software, should the customer wish so.

Dockmate® TWIN

Dockmate® TWIN offers a wireless extension of your boat's controls with the exact same feeling and response time.

TWIN key features

  • Maneuver your boat from any place on board.

  • Control 2 engines, bow thruster, stern thruster, 1 or 2 anchor winches or windlasses, and horn with separate buttons.

Batteries

The Dockmate® TWIN runs on 3 replaceable AAA batteries. Typically The Dockmate® TWIN can run on one set of batteries for an entire boating season.

Dockmate® SINGLE

Dockmate® SINGLE offers a wireless extension of your boat's controls with the exact same feeling and response time.

SINGLE key features

  • Maneuver your boat from any place on board.

  • Control 1 engine, bow thruster, stern thruster, 1 or 2 anchor winches or windlasses, and horn with separate buttons.

Dockmate® Receiver

The device our Dockmate® transmitters talk to. The Receiver translates the commands given through the transmitter and relays them to your boat's controls. The Receiver is in essence the link between the Dockmate® transmitter and your boat.

BIG_RECIVER_FRONT.jpg
  • The Dockmate® Receiver is a modular system. Every Receiver is assembled and programmed for a specific boat. The boat's equipment and the customer's wishes determine which modules are installed in the receiver. This means every Dockmate® is built to order and is more or less unique.

  • The receiver is connected directly (through cables) and/or indirectly (though cables and an extra CAN bus interface or gearbox driver) to all the necessary controls of your boat.

  • The Receiver supports all electronic controls, both analogue and digital (CAN).

CAN bus Interface

A new interface for seamless control over POD drives, and other specific propulsion systems.

  • The Dockmate® TWIST can now be connected to the Volvo Penta IPS system, thanks to our new CAN bus interface.

  • This Interface acts as an extra station in the system and doesn't require any calibration. It allows the skipper to move around the boat while keeping his fingers on the fully proportional joystick, making docking easier & less stressful!

  • We are working on future support for the Zeus POD system.

Gearbox driver

The Dockmate® Gearbox driver is a specially developed interface that allows Dockmate® to connect directly to the boat's gearbox.

GEARBOX_DRV.jpg
  • Allows Dockmate® to connect and communicate directly to the engine's gearbox.

  • This Interface allows Dockmate® to by-pass the ship's CAN bus system, thus avoiding any possible protocol incompatibility or problem.

  • In this case the warranty on the engine will not be declared void by the manufacturer.

Dockmate®

features and technical details

All boats with electronic engine controls can be equipped with the Dockmate® system, regardless of the length or type of the boat. Our transmitters are completely waterproof and float. They are only the size of an iPhone and have a very simple, clear layout.

In our most simple configuration, the SINGLE and TWIN transmitters send a coded digital signal to the receiver which operates the engine(s) and the horn. The system can be extended modularly to also control the bow thruster, stern thruster and windlass.

Operation is easy, accurate, safe and reliable, and can be done from any location aboard the boat. If the transmitter somehow slips out of your hands, then all systems immediately drop to neutral. There is also an automatic shut off after 30 minutes of non-use.

The Dockmate® signal reaches up to 50 meters (165 feet). The receiver is mounted behind the dashboard and measures about 22x22x6cm. Each Dockmate® system is unique and will not be disturbed by any other Dockmate®.

  •  Modular assembly of the receiver means each receiver can be fully customised in a couple of minutes; additional modules can be ordered anytime.

  • Dockmate® uses 2 way FHSS (Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum) communication with handshake and 88bit encoding. This ensures reliable communication between transmitter and receiver, and enables faultless operation of the Dockmate® system.

  • Dockmate® uses 88 bit encoding for reliable data transmission.

  • Transmitter operating range goes up to 50 meters (165 feet).

  • Easily switch-off the transmitter in a panic.

  • Our analog modules always feature double relays for improved safety.

  • Visual and audible confirmation on the transmitter informs the user about the communication status between the receiver and receiver.

  • Visual and audible status indication on the receiver.

  • Automatic shutdown of the transmitter after 30 minutes of non-use.

  • Easy to hide receiver (22x22x6cm). In most boats the receiver can be mounted behind the dashboard.

  • Automatic take command via the transmitter to make it the active station.

  • Dockmate® transmitters have a rubber finish, are waterproof and float.

  • You can connect up to 2 sources for the power supply to the receiver (12V or 24V) for increased safety.

  • The Receiver features waterproof connectors for all the cables.

  • Dockmate® is available in 433 and 868MHz.

  • The Dockmate® system comes with plug & play cables for most brands.

We can connect to the engines in 3 different ways:

  1. Analog.

  2. Digital, through sophisticated CAN bus technology.

  3. Directly onto the gearbox.
